Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the last date for registration and modification of voters list for general elections of 2018. Approximately, 104,267,581 new voters have been registered across the country. If you want to check the status of your eligibility, you can do that by doing the following:

There are two ways to verify if you are eligible to vote: by sending SMS to ECP or visiting the relevant District Election Commission Officer.

1. Check Your Status By Sending SMS To ECP

By sending your CNIC number to 8300, you can get the voting details which includes the name of your electoral area, block code, and serial number.

2. Visit District Election Commissioner’s Office

You can verify your voter registration by simply visiting your DEC’s office where the electoral roll is available. The ECP has provided the contact information for all four provinces District Election Commissioner’s office on their website.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has set up about 14, 487 display centers across the country. For any sort of complaints like the correction in names or address, removal of name from the voter lists you can visit these display centers. In the center, you can submit your application by obtaining a form also available online at the ECP website along with a copy of your CNIC to the district election commission’s office.

Obtain the Form 17 from any display center or download it from ECP’s website and then submit the filled form to ECP display center, or regional or district office if the information available with ECP doesn’t match with the information on your CNIC.

If you have moved from the area where you were residing, you have to fill the Form 15 for transferring the vote to your current place.

You Are Not Eligible To Vote If

a) you are not a citizen of Pakistan

b) you are less than eighteen years of age

c) you don’t possess a National Identity Card issued by the National Database and Registration Authority at any time till the last day fixed for inviting claims, objections, and applications for preparation, revision or correction of electoral rolls

d) declared by a competent court to be of unsound mind

e) not deemed under section 27 to be resident in the electoral area.
