Aqeel Karim Dhedhi is a Pakistani business magnate and a philanthropist. He is known as ‘the king of stock exchange’ or ‘market’s man’ for his great achievements and knowledge in trading work. He is a reputable business tycoon who has served greatly for the economic growth of Pakistan.
Born in 1957 in Karachi, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi spent most of his childhood here and a small part in the Middle East. His family originates from Junagadh, India. He was a very hard working boy as a teenager and often accompanied his father and brother to their business trips to different parts of the world. AKD made his first visit to his dad’s office at the tender age of 12. He always had this spark to become a business man.
His first business deal was made when he was just in school, in 7thstandard. He was not a good student and had no interest in studies which led him to drop off high school and join the family business. Once in his childhood, their business bore a loss of Rs. 8000 because of him. This small loss made him realize the value of money. His father has always been the main source of encouragement in his life who he looked up to and still follows the footsteps of.
Aqeel Karim Dhedhi had been an athlete all his childhood. He learned to play golf and cricket and was crazy about these sports. Many people do not know but he is a very good swimmer and a horse rider.
Mr. Dedhi began his career in the stock exchange in 1976 and set up his first office in 1984. His business grew large at a very fast pace in a short period of time with his constant struggle and hard work. Very soon he mastered the art of investing and became the king in this game. Today he is the pioneer of online stock trading in Pakistan. He practically owns Karachi and its markets. People who want to excel in their investment business want to reach the level of success that this man is enjoying.
His giant umbrella covers up a huge business relating to financial services, telecom, infrastructure, manufacturing and natural resources. His company, AKD Securities is a market giant.
It is said that great success is built with challenges, failures, betrayals and many more obstacles, but those who overcome these hurdles come out on top. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi had to face a lot of allegations of scam and fraud, but he remained positive and contained himself in those troublesome situations and stood true to himself which eventually helped him out of the hot water.
