We often discuss how our societal problems have plunged the image of our country into the darkest pits and we’re not left without examples for too long. Rape and physical abuse have become common in Pakistan, no matter how hard we try running away from the fact.
According to the tragic details reported by different News Channels of Pakistan, a 6-year-old baby girl was subjected to gang-rape and severe torture in Mubarkpur Area near Thul, Jacobabad, Sindh.
The girl was abducted, gang-raped and tortured by unidentified men who committed the heinous act and left the little girl for dead inside an abandoned building. Upon her crying, the police were informed of the location who took her to the Jacobabad Hospital.
The little girl was tended at the hospital by a lady doctor who confirmed that the girl had been gang-raped and tortured. As her condition started deteriorating, the 6-year-old was shifted to Karachi, where doctors cross-examined and confirmed the lady doctor’s reports.
Heinous acts in our society have started becoming a norm and if we the people sit and just talk about these issues, they will never leave us. This demands actions. The uneducated and primitive mindset that resorts to such activities in the rural areas raise questions over the incompetency of the police and bureaucracy in these areas.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and demanded the utmost urgent arrest of these culprits. The life of this little girl, however, remains ruined with zero accountability as of yet.
