It is rightly said that records are made to be broken. Kamran Akmal, the shining star of the National T20 cup from Lahore whites,  broke many records respectively. The highest partnership record was broken by Akmal and Salman Butt of 209 runs, beating the best of 207 runs by Joe Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond of Kent in 2017 Natwest T20 Blast. Similarly, Akmal became the first batsman to score 150 runs in a T20 match, also hitting the most sixes in a domestic T20 match in Pakistan, becoming the third batsman to make five consecutive fifties in T20 cricket. Akmal also scored 432 runs in this tournament, most among all players.

Kamran Akmal was the player who provided a perfect stand to Lahore Whites to survive to the final. However, Lahore whites were not able to win the National T20, as they were beaten by Lahore Blues. But the innings of Kamran Akmal had left a deep impact on PCB’s selectors. Having to prove himself after being dropped from the international side, he has come back stronger than ever.
