M&Ms are one of the most loved chocolates and from a child who’s three years old to an elderly who’s 45 years old are easily in love with the rainbow-colored candies.
They are mouthwatering and are downright delicious. Although, recently we’ve been struck by the news that left our hearts broken into pieces and that my friends are that M&Ms are NOT HALAL!

Well, recently a customer inquired if M&Ms were halal
@mmsuk question: are M&Ms Halal? ?
— Bako (@TheLifeOfBako) February 13, 2019
To which M&Ms responded stating, “Hi, thanks for getting in touch. M&M’s are not suitable for a Halal diet. We use additives that come from animal products when we’re making M&M’s and traces of these can be found in the sweets. Kind regards.”

They also said, We sell quality products all over the world & seek to meet our consumers’ needs in each market where we operate. In some countries, this includes certifying our products as Halal. Where we have Halal-certified products, this is indicated on the product packaging.

The concerns aren’t solely for the Pakistani Muslims…

After all the reactions and the news that was shared MuslimMatters inquired with this tweet:
We would like to know what specific ingredients as specified on your website or wrappers are you considering as not being halal? Is it carmine or is it something else? Full information is required before such general designations are made.

We’re still waiting for the response but until then, we’re as sad as you are and let us dwell in that sadness in peace! Let us know if you have anything to this story if you’re an M&M lover.
