One of the most famous social personalities of Pakistan, a learned visionary, Muneer Ahmed Qureshi urf Munnu Bhai passed away in Lahore today. Born in 1933, Munnu bhai was 84 years old.
Munnu Bhai was a columnist, a playwright, a poet and a scriptwriter. Munnu Bhai’s nature of illness was not specified, but he passed away during treatment at at a private hospital in Lahore.

Born in Wazirabad, Punjab, Munnu Bhai wrote numerous plays for PTV, being awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 2007 for his great services to the country.
Apart from being a playwright and poet, he was a progressive person who always talked about the freedom of media. According to Munnu Bhai, terrorism, poverty, social vices — all these could be eradicated through honest journalism. He always believed that with the progression of time, journalism in Pakistan will enhance in maturity, helping form a better society.
