Embarking on a journey to breakthroughs in science and research, the College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), organized “11th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial, Computer Science and Statistics” (MACS 11) themed as “Computational Intelligence”, according to IoBM Public Affairs section.

The Conference was so designed with panelists and participants focusing accordingly on such discussion, deliberation, and discourse that bridge, strengthen and foster links between industry and academia in all fields of Research and Development. Participants called for availing such opportunities, especially for academia and industries, to exchange unique ideas, innovative practices, and creative solutions to develop an atmosphere of collaboration at the regional, national and international levels.

MACS 11 invited scientists, industry experts, researchers, academicians and research students to present their ideas, insights, and initiatives through research papers pertaining to the field of mathematics, computer science, actuarial sciences, and statistics. International speakers invited from the University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were Mr. Javed Iqbal, Mr. Muhammad J. Tahir, Mr. Usman Ilahi and Mr. Talha Ahmed Khan. Also invited were Prof. Dr. Najmi Ghani Haider, NED University; Dr. Jawwad Ahmed Shamsi, HOD CS, FAST; Dr. Shah Jamal Alam, Registrar, Habib University; Dr.  Humera Farooq, HoD CS, Bahria University; Prof. Masoodul Haq Usman Institute of Technology and Dr. Ehtisham Hussain Karachi University.

Gracing MACS 11 with their motivating presence were IoBM’s Mr. Talib Syed Karim, President; Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance and Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES. It was well-attended by IoBM Deans, HoDs, faculty, and students. Invited as Chief Guest was Mr. Veqar ul Islam, CEO Jaffer Business Systems. Comprising MACS 11 team amid the inspiring guidance of Dr. Ejaz Ahmed, Dean CCSIS, IoBM were Dr. Aqil Burney, HoD, Actuarial Sciences and Risk Management; Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ali, Senior Fellow and Professor, Mathematics and Statistics; Mr. Laiq Muhammad Khan, Senior Fellow, Mathematics and Statistics; Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Alam, Associate Professor, Computer Science and MIS; Dr. Fatima Riaz, Asst. Professor, Mathematics, and Statistics. Also instrumental in organizing MACS 11 were such illustrious faculty as Engineer Muhammad Asghar Khan, Syed Farhan Mazhar, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Barakzai, Shaikh Muhammad Ali, Mr. Rizwan Ahmed, Mr. Khalid Bin Muhammad, Mr. Asim Iftikhar, Ms. Najmus Saher Khan and Ms. Sumaira Khan.

“Computational Intelligence” was not limited to contemporary trends and issues in Computer Science, Management Science and Media Science. This conference provided opportunities for researchers and participants to bring and exchange new ideas, innovative practices, unique solutions and application experiences in respective fields fostering business and research relations and facilitating in finding global partners for future collaboration. IoBM has been organizing such a conference for eleven years in a row, which is a testament to its President, Executive Director, Deans and Faculty’s vision to provide participants to exchange ideas, present solutions and discuss best practices in mathematics, computer science, actuarial science, risk management, and statistics.
