Opposition Holds a Public Gathering in Karachi and Faisalabad

The five-party alliance that was formed as an opposition has announced plans to hold a public gathering in Karachi on May 5 and in Faisalabad on May 10.

The grand opposition alliance was announced prior with the intent to hold the government accountable for the massive rigging in the elections. A meeting was called at Sarder Akther Mengal’s house in which the representatives of different political parties were present including Omer Ayub of PTI and Sahibzada Hamid Raza of Sunni Ittehad. Other political parties present were BNP, PKMAP, JUI, and MWM.

It was later decided that Mehmood Khan Achakzai led the alliance who believed that he could also bring Imran’s PTI on the table. Further pointing out that PM Shebaz has offered resistance to sit with the government. The motto of the grand opposition is the rule of law, independence of judiciary, and supremacy of parliament.
