We’ve all seen how prisons are and how strict rules are followed to keep the whole system intact. Well, things are a little different in Quetta’s central jail. The rules and regulations in the jail are not implied on imprisoned ‘officials’. The hidden reality behind the central jail, Quetta is no less than a luxury for the corrupt officials. The life behind the bars was exposed in leaked videos and pictures by Geo.
In the video, some of the notable personalities who were seen having a good time in the prison include former Chief Minister of Balochistan Aslam Raisani’s Secretary Mir Imran Ghicki, former Balochistan Food Minister Asfandyar Kakar and Food Director Zahir Jan Jamaldin.
Talking about luxuries, the officials are served fancy meals, have access to their phones through technology in the jail premises which bypasses the mobile jammers, televisions, and playing cards. Not just this, but they can also avail the services of a masseur. WOW.
The video below shows the life behind bars in Quetta Central Jail
These imprisoned officials not only have access to their phones but internet as well. According to sources, Ghicki updated his Facebook profile picture on July 19, 2017, but his account was soon deactivated after the video went on air.
Kakar was arrested for being involved in corruption worth Rs2 billion and the disappearance of five million sacks of wheat during his tenure. Also, DIG Jails said that mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the jail. However, he also said that he was not aware of the fact that mobile phones were being used inside and a strict action would be taken if found violating the rules.
Home Minister Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti took notice of the luxuries available to the imprisoned officials and ordered a strict inspection into the matter. What are your thoughts on this? Is this justified in any way?
