Normalcy finally returns to Pakistan, as the now possibly biggest religious-politico party of the country, Tehreek-i-Labaik end their countrywide strike, something they had no plan of doing, but an agreement was reached between the State and the party lead by Khadim Rizvi.

After two days of extreme siege and anarchy, the protests were called off due to the high-profile assassination of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, the leader of the JUI-S. The Maulana also had the honor of being known as the ‘Father of Taliban’, owing to his contributions of creating phenomena during the Soviet War.

The writ of the State, in the 2 days of protests, somehow could not be seen. The Prime Minister had warned rogue elements of dire consequences, but it seems that the PM’s visit to China helped him track-back on yet another statement. Finally, the government signed an agreement with the rogue party that had been protesting. The points of this particular ‘muaida’ somehow seem to go in favor of the TLP rather the government.

This issue has forced people to speak out and shame the government for not being able to control the situation and kneeling to the fanatics. This is how people are reacting over the ‘muaida’ on the internet!

A journalist compared the scenario to how the TTP were given a free-hand before

Some very extremely angry about the different treatment of PTM and the TLP

Then there were jokes about how one-sided the clauses of the ‘muaida‘ were

If the new government had to be summed up in one sentence, it would be #AllTalkNoAction

The former Governor of Sindh thinks that the agreement was in shape a surrender by the government

Where’s the contempt of court? Charges of incitement? How is this an agreement?

If the State can reach an agreement with TLP, surely the killers too can be talked with…

The loss of the public is their personal loss – the State has nothing to do with that #NewPakistan

And for the supporters of the government who are still trying to find a way out – just don’t?

The 5-point agenda that the government agreed upon with the Tehreek-e-Labaik, seemed to be in favor of Khadim Rizvi and his men, unlike what the PM had suggested. With Asia Bibi’s name on the ECL, the verdict to be appealed against and the freedom of rogue supporters who were arrested, the apology of the TLP is nothing but face-saving for the government.
