Everybody loves a good conspiracy theory, as it feeds more than just the mind. The 21st century thrives on such theories, that might be incorrect in every manner, but at the same time, the logic is always ardent in being traced.

Pakistan, recently, has been under extreme pressure from all ends. From shuffles in bureaucracy to the streets being occupied by religious fanatics, it seems as if only a good, solid conspiracy theory can calm the mind and register what exactly is going on. The tragic assassination of JUI-S leader Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has given birth to just that.

As per this viral conspiracy theory which has surfaced in two editions on different social media platforms including Whatsapp, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq’s death seems to be a planned endeavor.

“He had been aligned with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for the July 25 election. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party had sought to work closely with him to implement various reforms and mainstream madrassah education.

Last month, a high-level delegation from Afghanistan had called on Maulana Sami, known as the “Father of the Taliban”, at Darul Uloom Haqqania and urged him to play a role in resolving the Afghan issue.

The delegation had appealed to the JUI-S chief to play the role of a mediator between different groups of Taliban as they considered him [Maulana Sami] their elder. The delegation members assured him that they would accept his decision for reconciliation in Afghanistan.

Maulana Sami had told them that the Afghan issue was very complicated and its resolution was not an easy task for him. However, he had said he wished to see a logical end to the Afghan issue and an end to bloodshed in the country. The assassination is being linked to the Israeli plane and a delegation that had ordered the ordeal in a Cognito fashion.”

As per the controversy theory, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was going to play a ‘huge’ part in the Afghanistan peace process and naturally, big players in the world did not want that to happen. Thus, it was decided that Maulana Sami-ul-Haq would be taken out of the scene altogether. The prominence of his role in the times to come might just have been the reason for his death.

Over 24 hours have passed since the JUI-S Chieftain was slain inside his home, stabbed multiple times in the posh locality of Bahria Town, Rawalpindi. However, police and the interior ministry is still to give any updates on the investigation. As for the conspiracy theory, it might just be hearsay and/or imagination, but this high-profile assassination surely is more than what meets the eye.
