If there’s one thing Pakistanis love more than the food they eat, is definitely news. In Pakistan, politics and news are the bread and butter of many, but the whole country loves salvaging on it, regardless of its benefits.

Ever since the country came into being, news and media have played a huge part in the common man’s awareness. Journalists have come and gone, but the motto for many remains the same, to inform the public of what exactly is going on in the country.

One of Pakistan’s most notoriously intellectual journalists, Najam Sethi, has been the centre of attention in many different cases. From the claims of ’35-punctures’ to being PCB Chairman and doing a hell of a job at it.

Staying away from the limelight and news for quite some time, Najam Sethi is returning to your tv screens with his new show called ‘Aap ke saath’ – the airing channel of which still remains unknown.

The show’s promo was launched by Najam Sethi through his official Twitter account and as witty as it is, it is also very controversial. The promo begins in the fields of an unknown place, a spot perfect for hunting as it is showcased. Then come 5 different men, wearing shirts of different political parties.

One man is wearing a Pakistan Muslim League – N (PMLN) shirt, another one is wearing a PTI shirt, the third one is wearing a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) shirt, one has an MQM shirt on and finally, the fifth and most controversial person is wearing a military uniform. Extremely naughty!

With sniffing dogs around, ready to catch the hunt their masters shoot down, the second scene has a little bird flying in the air. The bird makes its way to an unknown place, being shot at, one by one. The first four shooters, of all political parties, miss their shots at the bird. However, the 5th shot that comes by the man in the military uniform just nearly scrapes the birds’ wings.

The bird then makes her way forward, when a black Mercedes with a Punjab number plate approaches the road. Enter Mr. Najam Sethi, who walks out of his Mercedes and the little bird comes and sits on his shoulder. The idea behind the promo is obviously Najam Sethi’s famous ‘Little Bird’ that informs him of everything that goes around.

As the shooters look on, Najam Sethi then says: “Main hoon na, Najam Sethi, aap ke saath!” – This is where the promo ends.
