China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has raised the expatriate population by alarmingly large numbers in Pakistan. According to the sources, it has grown from 20,000 to nearly 60,000 in 2018. With the increase in their number also resulted in increased crimes committed by the Chinese; mostly men. Recently, most of the news that circulates around them is horrific, to say the least.
Not too long ago, multiple networks of these Chinese men luring Pakistani women mostly belonging to the lower financial class and Christian minorities into marriage contracts with false promises of a better future were busted. Parents were given money and a visa, in exchange for their daughters. They would force them into prostitution in China or use them for organ harvesting. Some of these helpless women escaped, some killed and others hoping to be freed.
This Time, A Chinese Man Allegedly Pushed A Pakistani Worker Into A Burning Furnace Out Of Anger
The Chinese national was working as a supervisor of the labor force and according to the sources, he lost his temper when one of the workers couldn’t understand his instructions. Out of anger, he pushed the worker into a burning furnace.
Faisalabad’s Sahianwala Industrial Estate is where the industry is located. The labor is identified as Shehroz, who is in critical condition. He was shifted to the nearest hospital which is Allied Hospital Faisalabad, according to sources.
Chinese Man Arrested And Investigation Under Process While The Labor Force Triggered And Protesting
CPO Azhar Ikram has reported that the entire matter is going to be addressed according to the law. He also added that SHO and DSP-level officers are going to carry out the investigation. A heavy protest is being carried out by the laborers as they demand justice and action against the Chinese boss.
The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad took notice of the trafficking of poor Pakistani women and released a cooperative statement, which read, “If any organization or individual commits a crime in Pakistan under the banner of the cross-border marriage, China supports the Pakistani side to crack down on it according to Pakistani laws”. Furthermore, they mentioned that China’s Ministry of Public Security has sent a task force to Pakistan to carry out law enforcement activities involving Chinese men with the Pakistani authorities.
Stern actions should be taken against these Chinese expats committing atrocities against innocent common Pakistanis. It’s high time that Pakistan keeps these Chinese nationals in check.
