On Thursday, Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmed and Fortune Barishal skipper Shakib Al Hasan made history during their team’s match against Rangpur Riders at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Iftikhar Ahmed First BPL T20 Century
Iftikhar came in to bat with Barishal down by 46-4, but the Pakistan batsman rose to the occasion, stitching a tremendous 192-run stand with skipper Shakib for the fifth wicket to help his team achieve a massive 238-run total.
The combination created history by becoming the biggest fifth-wicket partnership in T20 history.
With 171 runs, Adam Hose and Dan Mousley previously held the record for the biggest fifth-wicket partnership.
Iftikhar was magnificent for his team, slamming a scorching 100 runs off 45 balls, laced with six fours and nine maximums.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s hitter scored 89 runs off 43 deliveries, including nine fours and six maximums.

It’s worth noting that this was Iftikhar’s first T20 century.
Iftikhar is the third batter to hit a century in this season’s BPL. Azam Khan also hit the century in BPL
