The woman who is loved by millions on earth and is looked up by many in her country is once again the center of the attention. The Nobel Prize Laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi assumed office in Myanmar and it seemed everything would fall back into pieces. Why not? She holds the Nobel Peace Prize for her outstanding services for the sake of peace! In fact, the world leaders admire her to an incredible extent that recently Barack Obama removed economic sanctions from Burma in her support.

The stark reality unfolds; ironically under the change of a Nobel Prize Laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi, the Muslims of Rohingya are facing adverse persecution. The majority of Burma fails to recognize hundreds of thousands Muslims as a part of their nation. They are branded as illegal immigrants. For years, they have been an underclass, stateless and living in despair. Now, they are being wiped off the earth’s surface in a genocide.

Aung San Suu Kyi doesn’t recognize the Rohingyan Muslims, let alone the state. She’s been criticized by Dalai Lama for it. Moreover, she has demanded the US government to not use the name «Rohingya». In an interview with BBC’s Mishal Hussain, Aung San Suu Kyi REFUSED to condemn the systematic violence on Rohingyan Muslims and left her seat by muttering words like, «no one told me I was going to be interviewed by a Muslim.»

You must not forget that it’s the same kind of violence that United Nations special rapporteur constitutes to «crimes against humanity».

She says:

«Muslims have been targeted but also Buddhists have been subjected to violence. There’s fear on both sides».

Both sides? Last time we checked, Muslims of Rohingya are slowly succumbing to starvation, diseases and living a life of despair. They are getting beheaded, burned alive in the persecutions by the majority in Myanmar.

Now the world demands Aung San Suu Kyi to return her Nobel Peace Prize

Over, 0.3 million have signed the petition to strip her of the honor of Nobel Peace Prize. It’s distressing how the rest of the world has resorted to silence in such a situation of turmoil. About time, the global leaders stand up for Muslims, for humanity.
