Uzair joined the Lyari gang war under the command of senior gangster Rehman Dakoit. It was only when Rehman was killed in an encounter did Uzair make his own armed-group known as People’s Aman Committee, Lyari’s most notorious gang. Uzair confessed to all his crimes, showcasing how Karachi police were involved all along.

At the behest of the then ruling party, PPP, Uzair Baloch collected Rs. 20 million in extortion monthly from different people and departments. As per Express Tribune, Uzair Baloch also disclosed that PPP MNA Faryal Talpur, sister of party co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, was given Rs10 million extortion every month.

He also cleared that all arms were being supplied to him from Quetta and Pashin, with the help of the ruling party. Sharjeel Memon and Nisar Morai were deputed by Faryal Talpur as Uzair Baloch’s helpers when the Karachi Operation was intensified. They were in charge of hiding his arms and keeping track of his financial records.

Uzair further claimed that he also helped Zardari’s foster brother Owais Muzaffar Tapi illegally occupy 14 Sugar Mills. Not just this, at Zardari’s orders, Uzair Baloch harassed people who lived near Karachi Bilawal House to sell their houses at meager prices.

While in police custody, Uzair found out that the PPP had planned to get him out of the way by getting him killed, which is why he had himself transferred to the Pakistan Rangers, where he could come clean. The claims laid down by the former gangster are shocking and formal action should be taken against all who have been named in his statement.
