The general elections of 2018 are just around the corner and the warmth of the elections can be felt in the political circles of the country. While it seems like Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf will sweep the country after the ousting of PML-N as contenders, all is not well, however, in the Sindh Assembly.

With speaker Agha Siraj Durrani not attending sessions at the moment, the power of the speaker has been vested in his deputy, Mrs. Shehla Raza. It would be an understatement to say that the in-charge speaker has been given an extremely tough time by MPAs of the Sindh Assembly, who can mostly be seen out of control with antics that do not make the assembly shine bright at all.

The hottest topic in all provincial assemblies, the budget, was the bone of contention between many political parties present in the assembly, when things got out of control. During the heated argument, when deputy speaker Shehla Raza tried to convince PML-F MPA Nusrat Seher Abbasi to calm down, the MPA turned almost rogue and started screaming, before she continuously pointed her shoe towards the deputy speaker Shehla Raza.

After many, many warnings from the deputy speaker, the Sergeant-at-Arms was called upon and asked to forcefully take Nusrat Seher Abbasi out of the assembly. More than the anger, the deputy speaker was hurt by the MPAs actions and she let the media know about it.

«Nusrat Seher Abbasi will not attend the assembly session today. Nusrat has issues and she has proven that she is not worthy of sitting in this assembly. This is no way to behave. To show a shoe is a crime not a mistake. For the past five days all that has happened in the assembly is drama,» said deputy speaker Shehla Raza.

She further said that: «The PML-F MPA Shehla Raza is famous for creating scenes and shouting. If women from opposition parties are creating noise in the House, then women from the ruling party should respond.»

However, people are divided on who was wrong in the particular situation, which obviously is based around their political affiliations. But one thing is for a fact, to wave a shoe at the deputy speaker, indeed, is not a mistake but a crime, which definitely ruins the decorum of the prestigious provincial assembly.
