Comedy has always been one of Pakistan’s mediocre presentations. Apart from a few big names, such as Anwar Maqsood, Moin Akhtar, Umar Sharif and a couple of other people, the country really hasn’t contributed to the cause of comedy that much, especially cause our comedians are well versed in Urdu.

However, as of recent, Pakistan seems to have adopted a comedian that they absolutely adore and think is actually hilarious as well. Yes, we’re talking about Jeremy McLellan. An American stand-up comedian from South Carolina who now works on comedy that relates to Pakistan and has somewhat fused himself into being a Pakistani.

One doesn’t need proof to know how many fans Jeremy has in Pakistan, and since the birth of his daughter, hundreds of the baby’s Muslim uncles and aunties have been wishing and welcoming her into the world. Jeremy broke the news of the birth of his daughter on his Facebook page and it attracted a lot of attention.

This is what Jeremy wrote: «Introducing to the world… Jewell Beverly McLellan! 6 lbs, 7 oz., 21 inches long. Stephanie and Jewell (and dad) are all doing so well. Thank you to everyone for your prayers! My heart is about to explode. Today is the best day of my life.»

As hysterical as Jeremy is, he went a step ahead and created a completely Pakistani meme… that too, on his own newborn daughter. Mimicking Nawaz Sharif’s famous dialogue, Jeremy put up a picture of his newborn with a caption that said: «Mujhay kyun nikaala? (why was I taken out)?»

The classic banter had people in fits and they made sure Jeremy was congratulated on the birth of his daughter, which he was very, very excited for, obviously. This is how people reacted to the birth of Jewell McLellan.
