The biggest internal issue of Pakistan, currently, is the lack of water resources and facilities in the country. It has been said by reliable sources, that by 2025, Pakistan might run out of water completely. This acute water shortage has caused a diabolical strangeness in the country, along with provincial rivalries.

When the State accepted its fate, that it would not be able to raise the right amount of money to build a new water reservoir, a dam, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar stepped up and created a dam fund account for Pakistanis. In the particular account, citizens of the country would donate money as much as they could afford.

However, a recent incident about a person’s dam donation has gone absolutely viral. A man named Sheikh Shahid, the other day, donated all his properties and assets, worth a whopping Rs. 8 crores, to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.

After the donation was sanctioned, Sheikh Shahid’s wife, along with her three sons, reached the Supreme Court with a heavy heart and anxiety. They informed the Chief Justice that Sheikh Shahid had donated the property without the family’s consent, who were the heirs as well. Shahid’s wife further went on to say that her husband was suffering from some sort of a mental disorder, as he gave away everything he had made for his children.

The Chief Justice Saqib Nisar then went on to ask the wife about her and her husband’s relations. The wife informed the Top Court that their relations were fine, and everything was okay. It was just because of her husband’s mental illness that he had made such a move, which deprived her sons of their assets.

The honourable Chief Justice, however, rightly so, informed the family that their properties would not be donated to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund. He cited that as per Shariah, the property of heirs (who in this case were Sheikh Shahid’s children), could not be taken away from them without their consent – so naturally, the case would be cancelled.

As funny as the incident sounds up until now, gets massive backing because the Chief Justice then ordered a complete ‘medical checkup’ for Sheikh Shahid, the man who had donated Rs. 8 crores to the Dam Fund. He also stated that there were several other Pakistanis who would happily donate money to the Dam Fund, and Pakistan did not need a forced donation from a mental patient.
