A Biology graduate from world’s topmost University, MIT and having  Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Brandies University, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, an incredibly bright mind with big dreams to accomplish the extraordinary for her nation, witnessed a doom that would shatter her forever…

How it all staged…!

Dr. Aafia Story - Parhlo

In March 2003, Aafia disappeared dramatically along with her three young children when her second husband’s uncle mentioned Aafia’s name for alleged association with banned groups operating in the U.S.A.

Yes In 2004, Aafia’s name was put on a hot list by the FBI only until July 2008 when she was supposedly taken in from Afghanistan and later prosecuted to serve 86 years.

Promises and Protests…

But recently a surprising revelation stormed the news when Dr. Muhammad Faisal, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson said that upon reviewing the potential possibilities of Dr. Aafia’s return, they found out from numerous resources that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui does not want to come back to Pakistan. Although the reports are highly ambiguous.

The FO Spokesperson further said that the only way the issue of Dr. Aafia’s return may proceed in discussion with the US could be when US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Imran Khan meet in the near future.

In Contrast

On the contrary, Dr. Aafia’s sister Dr. Fouzia opposed the FO spokesperson statement, telling Independent Urdu that «if anyone says that Aafia herself does not want to come to Pakistan, it is completely untrue.» She also confirmed that the consulate office in Houston had met Aafia last month.

Dr. Fouzia further said that «at one point it had seemed as if Aafia was going to come to Pakistan any moment.» She said that she had been reassured by the government that negotiations with the US were ongoing and that «there will be good news between January and March, but now the silence has set in again.»

«Aafia told me on the phone that she is ready to sign any document, and that she only wants to get out somehow,» Dr. Fouzia was quoted as saying.

Is there any hope to vouch on…?

From the statements of Dr. Fouzia, one thing that appears to be evident is that Dr. Aafia is currently in proper communication with her family-although, we know nothing about her condition…
