Styling And Trimming Your Beard In This Part Of Pakistan Is Actually A Crime!

They say the best part about a man’s face is his beard, and to keep a beard looking like a beard and not a bird’s nest requires a lot of care and attention.

Styling and trimming beards is a trend in Pakistan that has been around for the last decade. From teenagers to old men, everyone prefers a ‘khatt’ that looks good on their face, with the hair neatly trimmed.

However, residents of Dalbandin, Balochistan, cannot afford the luxury anymore. As per the latest notification issued by the Assistant Commissioner’s office in Dalbandin, styling and trimming of beard is an actual offence, with legal consequences. It is the world of Balochistan government.

The notification was directed to all the barbers and ‘garram hamams’ of the district, which is one of the vastest in Pakistan. The youth of Balochistan, just like everywhere else, prefers staying in touch with style, as the only thing they can do in hinterlands is watch tv and movies. Inspired by their heroes, they too style their beards and try to give resemblance.

However, you must be wondering, why the ban on trimming your beard, when it is YOUR property? Well, the reason is also written in the word of the government. As per the Assistant Commissioner, keeping and growing the beard is the ‘Sunnat’ of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and one who does not follow it, will suffer harsh consequences.

Let it be known to the AC, that their are thousands of other ‘Sunnats’ of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as well, but we seldom follow those. Instead, in our daily routines, we somehow subdue these ‘Sunnats’ for little perks. But to enforce a ‘Sunnat’ on the people, that is something uncalled for.

With this being the word of the government in Balochistan, there is nothing much the barber shops or people can do. It should be the responsibility of the higher-ups, people like Sarfraz Bugti and new CM Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo that the writ of law is not enforced in people in an uncanny manner.
