On 24 December 2018, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been sentenced to seven years in jail by accountability court in Al-Azizia reference case. Initially, Nawaz Sharif was sent to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi but he requested the court to transfer him to Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore since his family resides there. As soon as he was shifted to Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore, the prisoner number 4470 has been allotted to ousted Prime Minister. He will be allowed to use the utensils from home as well. When Maryam Nawaz paid a visit to the jail yesterday and asked if he wants something, Nawaz Sharif asked for the pictures of his late wife Kulsoom Nawaz only. According to 24 News, the jail administration has assigned Nawaz Sharif to clean the ward of the jail along with his room. The media correspondent has also told that the jail administration decided to assign him as a teacher of other prisoners at first but due to the security issues, his duty has been changed now.
