Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is Pakistani neuroscientist who studied from Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT and Brandeis University and sentenced to jail in 2010 and she’s is still in the custody of US jail and was sentenced to 86 years in prison at Federal Medical Centre, Carswell, Fort Worth in Texas. Dr. Aafia was taken into custody on charges of attempting serious unlawful acts against US military personnel.
A senior Pakistani socio-political journalist Orya Maqbool Jan said in a talk show that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui will be releasing soon. He said that she will be in Pakistan on 16th March 2019 as per details. After praising Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Orya said that he was the one who raised Aafia Siddiqui’s issue during his election campaigns and due to his immense efforts, Aafia will soon be released. Referring to US-Taliban Peace Talk, Orya said that the backdoor diplomacy of Imran Khan and his ministers became the reason for this great news.
